The implementation of face recognition systems, in online classrooms, has emerged as an efficient and effective strategy in numerous educational institutions globally. By reducing time wastage and accurately documenting student attendance, these systems provide lecturers with reassurance regarding student engagement. This study aims to justify the significance of adopting such systems in Saudi Arabian educational institutions and to analyze lecturers’ usage, perceived risks, attitudes and behavioral intentions toward face recognition technology. In alignment with established research on technology adoption, this study employed the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as its proposed research model. A quantitative research methodology was employed, with a survey administered to university personnel in Saudi Arabia. The study’s sample comprised university staff in Jeddah. Findings revealed that the implementation of face recognition systems, for attendance purposes, positively influenced users’ attitudes and behavioral intentions
